The historic town of Fernandina Beach on North Florida’s barrier island of Amelia Island is busy preparing for the upcoming 2009 Shrimp Festival. The infamous local Pirates Club is keeping its powder dry and the throats wet with rum. The shrimpers and fishermen are preparing their boats and the restaurateurs are spiffing up their barbecues.
