<p>.A while back my mom was telling me about this seafood place.<br />
There are a lot of them around here and I grew up on seafood.<br />
She went on about how good it was so one day I went with her.</p>
<p><strong> It was so good I got hooked ! </strong></p>
<p>This is a picture of the place when you pull up outside.<br />
  It’s a cool little place.<br />
Here is what you get at Shuckers a good portion of food and the food is delicious.<br />
The prices are reasonable too. Price range is from $6.99 to $10.99 They are open for lunch and dinner.</p>
<p> The seafood here is cooked just right not over done at all. </p>
<p> I’ll fess up and tell you I wanted to keep this place my little secret but that wouldn’t be fair.<br />
So I decided to spill the beans and tell you about it. </p>
<div id="attachment_561" class="wp-caption alignleft" style="width: 310px"><a href="http://aboutamelia.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/inside-shuckers.jpg"><img src="http://aboutamelia.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/inside-shuckers-300x224.jpg" alt="" title="inside shuckers" width="300" height="224" class="size-medium wp-image-561" /></a><p class="wp-caption-text">You Better get here before they fill up. I did.</p></div><br />
.</p>
<p>.</p>
<p>.<br />
I was lucky and got here before the lunch rush. </p>
<p><div id="attachment_566" class="wp-caption alignleft" style="width: 310px"><a href="http://aboutamelia.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/Kirby-and-crew..jpg"><img src="http://aboutamelia.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/Kirby-and-crew.-300x224.jpg" alt="" title="Kirby and crew." width="300" height="224" class="size-medium wp-image-566" /></a><p class="wp-caption-text">some of the Crew.</p></div>
<p>.</p>
<p>.</p>
<p>.</p>
<p>.</p>
<p>.</p>
<p>.</p>
<p>.</p>
<p>.</p>
<p>.<br />
I asked Kirby here in the photo some questions And she was kind enough to give me the low down.</p>
<p> I wanted to know a little more of the origin of this place as it didn&#8217;t seem to be one of those cookie cutter kind of places where everything was the same. It had it’s own little style. It didn’t have that corporate feel if you know what I mean.<br />
I found out that the owner had a dream one day of having her own restaurant and out of that dream Shcukers was born.<br />
The owner is not the cook but does from time to time go in the kitchen and helps with the food prep.<br />
So she gets her hands in the works and gets involved with what goes to your table.<br />
To me that is a very good sign. She really cares. </p>
<p> She said the place has been here Almost 2 years and they have live music on wed and karaoke on Fri.<br />
Check out their web site here. <strong><a href="http://Floridashuckers.com">Floridashuckers.</a>com </strong> </p>
<p>They also have daily specials . </p>
<p>So come on in and let Kirby and crew take care of you. </p>

Is it a quick review I did to give you some insight for a place to stay here on Amelia Island.</p>
<p>Seaside Amelia Inn is located at 2900 Atlantic Avenue. They have about 44 rooms . They let me in one and I took some pictures for you.</p>
<p><a href="http://aboutamelia.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/Bedroom.jpg"><img class="aligncenter size-medium wp-image-433" title="Bedroom" src="http://aboutamelia.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/Bedroom-300x225.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p>The rooms are nice neat and clean they have microwave and mini refrigerator .</p>
<p><a href="http://aboutamelia.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/B14.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-435" title="Amelia Island hotels" src="http://aboutamelia.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/B14-300x225.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p>A nice swimming pool if you like to swim in fresh water rather than the ocean.<br />
They also have a roof top terrace.<br />
<a href="http://aboutamelia.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/Amelia-Island-hotels-pool.jpg"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-437" title="Amelia Island hotels pool" src="http://aboutamelia.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/Amelia-Island-hotels-pool-300x225.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p>The ocean is just out the front door and to the right not many steps and you are in the sand on one of the best Beaches in <a href="http://aboutamelia.com/events-and-activities/best-beach-vacations-in-florida/" class="alinks_links" onclick="return alinks_click(this);" title="Florida is the sunshine state.">Florida</a>. Most of the time its not crowded either.</p>
<p>You will find other <a href="http://aboutamelia.com/amelia-island-concours-d%e2%80%99elegance/amelia-island-concours-delegance-in-fernandina-beach/" class="alinks_links" onclick="return alinks_click(this);" title="">Amelia Island </a>hotels but this one is on the A list if you ask me.</p>
<p>No need to fight for a parking place to go to the beach and drag the cooler out and all the hassle. Your room is just not that far away with all the comforts of home</p>
<p>Now after the sun goes down the night life begins.<br />
Have a good time at Sandy Bottoms and again just a short walk (very short ) and you are home again in your room. I don’t think it can get much better than that.. <a href="http://aboutamelia.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/Sandy-Bottoms-front.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-439" title="Sandy Bottoms front" src="http://aboutamelia.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/Sandy-Bottoms-front-300x225.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://aboutamelia.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/Beach-2.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-442" title="Beach 2" src="http://aboutamelia.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/Beach-2-300x225.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a></p>
<p>I like the place and it has a price range from 99.00 dollars to 199.00 dollars.<br />
And yes they do have specials so If you are coming this way check them out for sure.<br />
I plan on doing other reviews of <a href="http://aboutamelia.com" class="alinks_links" onclick="return alinks_click(this);" title="places to stay on Amelia Island" style="padding-right: 13px; background: url(http://aboutamelia.com/wp-content/plugins/alinks/images/external.png) center right no-repeat;" rel="external">Amelia Island hotels </a>as well.<br />

<p>Seafood lovers and art enthusiasts gather on Amelia Island for it&#8217;s annual Shrimp Festival on April 29th through May 2nd . Returning for its 47th year, the 2010 Shrimp Festival takes place on the small north <a href="http://aboutamelia.com/events-and-activities/best-beach-vacations-in-florida/" class="alinks_links" onclick="return alinks_click(this);" title="Florida is the sunshine state.">Florida</a> barrier Island of <a href="http://aboutamelia.com/amelia-island-vacation/your-vacation-on-amelia-island-florida/" class="alinks_links" onclick="return alinks_click(this);" title="All About Amelia Island">Amelia Island Florida</a>. In addition to games and entertainment, the festival will feature three full days of art exhibits from all over the country.</p>
<p>Amelia Island, the birthplace of the modern shrimp industry, originally held its first festival in 1964 as a local shrimp boat race, blessing of the fleet and art show.  “ The festival started out far different than what it has become today” said Dee Dee Bartel, the founder of the Shrimp Festival &#8211; it now draws over 150,000 people from all over the world.</p>
<p>Over 325 artists and craftsmen from all over the United States come here to compete in fierce competition, with total cash prizes of  over $9,000  awarded to the winners. The Isle of eight flags Shrimp Festival has repeatedly been recognized as one of the top art shows in the United States &#8211; which has resulted in some of the top artists in the United States being drawn to it.</p>
<p>In addition to arts and crafts lining the streets at the festival , there will be scores of other activities such as the pirate parade, pirate invasion, fireworks, beauty pageant, and a host of stage performances.  Amongst the performers will be the hugely popular Swinging Medallions &#8211; who had the hit double shot (of my baby&#8217;s love ). Also featured will be Jimmy Hall, formerly of Wet Willie.</p>
<p>Outstanding food will be available, in addition to the antique and craft vendors which will line the historic streets for those who enjoy handmade items.<br />
As always, the fireworks start the evening with the Pirates invasion Friday evening, April 30th on Amelia Island, with the Fernandina pirates sailing into the harbor at approximately 9:30 pm.<br />
