Fernandina Beach Shrimp Festival
The Historic Amelia Island – Fernandina Beach Shrimp Festival will take place between April 30 – May 2, 2010. This event which has been held since 1964 and was originally a shrimp boat race featuring an arts and craft show, has now grown to one of the top art events in America, and attracts about 150,000 people. In addition to the usual downtown loaded with vendor arts and crafts, there will be a host of ongoing activities. A sample of the activities are:
- Pirate Parade
- Stage performances
- Pirate Invasion
- YMCA run, walk
- Blessing of the Fleet & best decorated boat
